Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (YOSEMA) has issued a caution warning over the collapse of a part of the Bauchi-Damaturu-Maiduguri federal highway.

The agency made this statement on Monday noting that a significant section of the road near Darazo exit was washed away, making the road unusable.

The agency also advised the federal road users that make use of this highway as well as the travellers from Kano to Gombe to exercise caution, suspend journeys at the moment and take necessary safety measures.

“As of Sunday, 27th September 2026, a significant portion of the Bauchi-Damaturu road has been cut off near the Darazo exit.

Motorists travelling along the Bauchi-Yobe-Maiduguri route or from Kano to Gombe are strongly advised to exercise extreme caution and take all necessary safety precautions.”

Yobe SEMA has urged the road users to apply safety and await updates on alternative routes.
