Former participant in the Big Brother Naija house, Tochi Okechukwu has warned against early marriage noting that young women who are forced into early marriage lose focus of their dreams and ambitions.

He made this statement in a post shared on his Instagram handle, detailing his views on early marriage among women.

He noted that young women should discover themselves and achieve something great before going into marriage.

He wrote:
“I have always been an advocate against early marriage in women.”

“When a young woman is pushed into marriage and having babies too early, her dreams usually have to take a back seat.”

Tochi emphasized that marriage is a good thing but “timing matters”.

He warned that early marriage could overshadow a woman’s identity and ambitions.

He also urged women to finish school, learn a skill and be independent before marriage.
